To preach the Gospel, ministers have looked in many directions to have enough financial resources to fulfill their visions. Unfortunately, some have resorted to unscrupulous ways. Others have begged. But many utilize God’s laws of sowing and reaping and progression. In Psalm 105, I found a nugget about provision. Read More

You’re Never too Old; It’s Never Too Late

I turned 60 in February. I also took my first missions trip this year. I’ve learned that we’re never too old, or it’s never too late to be about God’s business. Humans are the only ones concerned about limitations. There are no limitations with God. He is all powerful and all loving, and nothing is too hard for Him. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the Gospel; this was my year to go. At the end of 2010, I sought the Lord about His plan for my life in 2011. He told me to submit myself to Gail Buse, FCF’s International Ambassador, and help her with whatever she needed in 2011. I knew this was for my benefit. I just didn’t realize how life changing the experience would be. When I told Gail what the Lord said, she replied, “Okay. I’ll pray about it and get back to you.” About March, she called and said, “I want you to go to Albania with me.” Read More

Fear and doubt entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command and ate the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Satan planted a seed of doubt when he asked Eve, “Did God say…?” In other words, Satan was asking, “Did God mean what He said? Are you sure you’ll die? Did you ever skip a particular church service only to find out later that the glory of God fell and wonderful things happened? Since you weren’t there—you were in the wrong place at the wrong time—you missed out. Blessings are positional.

Trouble comes when you’re out of place. Let’s look at one example from the Bible. Remember the account in 2 Samuel 11:1-7 when Israel was at war and David was so tired that he didn’t go to the battlefield? While his troops were at war, David was relaxing on his rooftop patio when he saw this good-looking woman bathing on her rooftop across the way. David lusted after her and had a relationship with her. When she became pregnant, David sent her husband to the front lines to ensure his death.

Growing up as the third child of my parents, I was forced to listen to the music of my older brothers, Mike and Pat. Since they had cars and drivers’ licenses, they controlled the radio and the eight-track player. Yes, this was before cassettes, cds, or mp3 players. Life was hard! Gas was twenty-nine cents per gallon or nineteen cents if a gas war was on, and AM radio was it.

Adjust and Thrive

Gary DeVoe, Media Director

“Fall back, spring forward,” adjust the clock, adjust the body—it’s all part of the yearly ritual. But as I age, the time between the events seems shorter and shorter. I had just gotten used to “falling back” when I had to “spring forward,” or I have sprung back and it’s now time to fall forward? Either way, we have to deal with time and seasons.
